Day Twenty Four
We were blessed with some dry weather to pack up and set out for Jasper. The drive is unbelievable with mountain after mountain. We stopped at the Columbia Icefields (Athabasca Glacier) and took a tour onto the glacier. We were lucky to have a sunny day with little wind so being on the glacier was very pleasant.
Arrived at our campsite in Jasper. The usual warnings about bears and some new warnings about calving season for Elk. We have yet to see a bear or elk. Started raining in the evening. Could hear the trains again, but not quite as loud as Banff.
Clark's Nuthatch. Very bold birds; begging on the car door. Saw them in Banff where they tried to steal my apple pie at the teahouse.
Lookout over Peyto Lake. Good place to stretch our legs.
