Day Thirty Six
Stewart and Margot were woken up at 5.30 by the whistle birds. We needed an early start so we got up and were on the road by 7.30 am. (I know that most of you may find that hard to believe but it is the truth!) We drove west through Montana. At our lunch stop in Missoula our waiter told us about the old gold mining towns of Nevada City and Virginia City on the way to Yellowstone. We stopped there for a break and did we wish that we had an afternoo0n and evening to spend there. They had restored the old mining town and it was the typical Montana old west stlye of buildings. They had an old Victorian theater where they had a Vaudeville show nightly. Next time in Montana we will have to plan to stay there for a day.We continued our drive, stopped for dinner and finally made it into Yellowstone by 8.00 and to our campsite by 9.00 pm. We set up in the dark and made good use of our lantern again.
