Day Thirty

We started the day with a visit to Paul and Wendy Wiebe (Margot's Third Cousin?). It was an enjoyable visit and they were kind enough to serve us a very nice lunch. After which Paul showed us around a bit including a tour of the outside of the Museum of Anthropology and the nearby former WW2 gun placement.

We went into the Museum and spent some time looking at the excellent collection of Haida art. Clearly a relatively prosperous people as they must have had much time to devote to the arts.

Next we went up to the Lynn Canyon and crossed over the suspension bridge. We to a short hike up to the 30 foot pool which is a very deep pool before you get to the falls (where the bridge crosses). The trees in this forest are 2nd growth trees (huge by Ontario standards), but some of the first growth stumps are still visible and they are enormous.

Finally, went out for dinner at "Wild Rice" -- a chinese-cooking based restaurant, but the food isn't really chinese per se. It was very good. Drove home through China town and then back to the hotel.
